History of Bulldog Walking Tours

Bulldog Walking Tours was founded in 2001 in an effort to raise money for the preservation of The Old Exchange, one of our country’s most historical buildings. To date, we have raised over $3.7M (that’s $3,700,000) for The Old Exchange, Old City Jail, Charleston’s oldest graveyard, and various other historical landmarks.

In addition to our ghost walking tours, we also offer The Charleston Stroll, a wonderful overview to Charleston’s history, homes, churches, & gardens, as well as the Charleston Food Tours which highlight the local restaurants, cuisine, & culinary landmarks.

We Have a Tour For Everything
From ghosts to history and pubs to kitchens, our daily or nightly walking tours of Charleston offer something for everyone.  Bulldog Ghost Tours has exclusive access to Charleston’s Old City Jail, Provost Dungeon, and Charleston’s oldest graveyard. The food tours are the perfect way to walk, talk and eat your way through Charleston. Plus, go behind the scenes of some of Charleston’s top restaurants, meeting the most talented chefs and tour their kitchens. During the Haunted Pub Tour, hear our favorite ghost stories while enjoying libations at the city’s finest bars and taverns.

We KNOW Charleston
Collectively, Bulldog Tours have more than 700 years of tour guide experience.  Our team members are Charleston experts and love to help folks get the most out of our city. We are open 365 days of the year to serve our guests and take great pride in our city.  We’re here to help you make the most out of your Charleston experience. Whether you need help deciding on a hotel, restaurant, or attraction, do not hesitate to ask.

We Care About Our Community
Bulldog Tours has raised over $2.7 million for the restoration and preservation of the Old City Jail, Circular Church’s graveyard, and the Old Exchange. A portion of tour ticket proceeds benefit these efforts. These landmarks and historic sites are key parts of Charleston’s charm and visitor appeal.

We love to reward good students.  Through our report card program, straight-A students can bring in their report card and receive a free tour. We also hold a special night for area schools twice a year where we donate a portion of the proceeds from the sale of the school’s ghost tour back to the school.

Bulldog Tours doesn’t use paper tickets and our guests check in electronically. Our walking tours of Charleston might leave a footprint, but it’s not a carbon footprint.
